BAND BIO....Well it not a bio but here's
a press release:
PLAYING MORE THAN 100 SHOWS THROUGHOUT
THE U.S. IN '99, HUMMER COMES HOME TO T.T.'S, OCTOBER 27
BOSTON, October 21, 1999 -- Hummer,
called "one of the best band to come out
of Boston in a long, long time" on AOL's Digital City , plays
T.T. the Bear's
on Wednesday, October 27. Building their audience as few Boston
bands do,
the band has toured the U.S. twice this year, playing more than
100 gigs.
Hummer's debut CD, Premium, was released nationally in February.
Robert Hicks, of New York's The Villager,
wrote, "These guys can jam in a
Neil Young & Crazy Horse dark vein." A reviewer for the
Portsmouth Herald
heard strains of the Stone Temple Piolts, and called the album
a "gem of
melodic rock." Comparisons are also made to Santana, the
Allman Brothers,
George Harrison, and Elliot Smith.
Premium was released on the nationally
distributed Accurate Records, original
home to Morphine and Medeski, Martin, and Wood. Morphine's Dana
Colley plays
sax on two cuts. In its first week of radio promotion, Premium
was the #3
AAA add behind albums by Van Morrison and Paul Westerberg, and
#15 college
add on the CMJ charts.
